The Diary: September 2000

The Beginning of The End
September marked a change in the Bar- the beginning of the end- or was that the end of the beginning? We'd survived a year of people leaving for uni each term time the year before- the bar expanded rapidly & was popular- but this time it was different. More people were to leave and some people no longer turned up to bar nights despite being in the area. This meant that term time bar nights were now very slack in numbers- in some cases practically no one came. The once busy & fun bar had become empty and dull. This was certainly not due to bad management or us doing anything wrong as such- just a change of people. The bar's rapid expansion was halted and very little new equipment was purchased or built. The bar had to learn to operate of a fraction of the profits- we turned to clubbing warm up nights or sporadic drinking sessions.
Saying that- things did pick up on a number of occasions. September- the birthday party was very busy, Christmas- a very busy bar night and a successful new years eve.
Once January returned and term time- the bar fell back to emptiness...
There are very few photos from here on in - just the odd few dotted around...

A Bar Night
A very busy night as I remember- and one of the last to be like this... No photos unfortunately...

An absolutely huge party- one of the biggest we've ever had with close on 50 people present. It was also our most technologically advanced with over £600 or hired in equipment in addition to our own. We had hired in two lighting scanners and an advanced twister effect.
We had a bar running, lighting everywhere, top tunes and a brilliant atmosphere. I was so drunk I don't remember much though....
Annoyingly we seem to have no photos whatsoever...
