What my poor car has had to put up with.
 Problem of the month
Whats gone wrong this month/week/day! (Sometimes even minute.)

My cars, a very brief
history!
Ha, this should be a laugh, I have had that many change of cars that I'm bound to make mistakes so please bear with me.
Right I suppose first I should start with the reason I only drive 2cvs, when most other poeple say other cars are "better".

Recent adventures
Recently my car has been involed in very few activities that are worth mentioning. This is mainly do to a reliability problem, (we don't want to end up stuck on a little road in the middle of no where at 2am), but when I get this fixed this section of the page will no doubt grow.

Problem of the month!
I though of this section as I was leafing through my workshop manual, (insert) this little book is one of my best friends at the moment!

Well problem of the month is quite intresting this month. For a start im not 100% sure what the problem is, which can be real fun when your trying to fix it. Right the problem, for those of you that haven't been in my car and those who haven't been in it recently, this is whats happened.
I was out with Martin, (see bar personel), driving around Stapleford and the surrounding country lanes. (During this time I was missing one of the cooling cowls for the left cylinder. Im not sure if that contributed, or helped to caused the problem.) The engine had left a little weird all day but i thought nothing of it, until I started getting a low pitch, high bass sound when i put the accelerater pedal flat down. This sound effect has spread over the last week and now covers most of the engine speeds.
Oh and before you consign yourself to the idea that the problem is a blowing exaust, it isn't. I have replaced the front silencer and checked over the whole of the system at least twice.
This has lead me to the conclusion the problem lies with one of the exhaust valves.

Well I gave up trying to find the problem with the engine and instead decided to swop it with one I had lying around. (this lead to whole new problems) The engine I swopped had been sitting outside for about a month and had somehow got water in one of the cylinders, this meant that its wasn't intrested in firing. We towed the car about 2 miles in gear in an atempt to get the new engine to fire, after which many hours it finally did. So now i have a running car, apart from the facts I still need to adjust the clutch and bleed the brakes, (which I haven't had time to do so im traveling around on a cycle!) which will hopefully get done soon.
